Common questions
Auto-blur missed something. How do I add a manual blur?
In the editor, drag your finger across the area you want hidden. A green dashed rectangle follows your drag; releasing turns it into a permanent frosted blur. Tap a blur to remove it.
I removed an auto-blur by mistake. Can I undo?
Yes. Tap the Undo pill in the editor's top bar to revert your most recent action. To restore all the auto-blurs you removed in this session, tap the Restore All pill that appears when there is anything to restore.
Will the app upload my screenshot somewhere?
No. The app has no network code at all. The image stays on your iPhone. There is no account, no server and nothing to opt out of.
Why does my saved image have a watermark?
Free saves carry a small snapdraft.suprun.ca mark in the corner, in both Redact and Post mode. A one-time in-app purchase removes it from both. Every other feature — all detection, manual blur, every face cover, all six backgrounds, unlimited saves — is free.
I bought the unlock and it is gone after reinstalling.
Settings → Restore purchase. It is a non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple ID, so it restores on any device signed in to the same account, free of charge.
The auto-blur missed a face or a barcode.
On some screenshots Apple's Vision models miss things, particularly tiny avatars or stylized barcodes. Drag to add a manual blur over anything that was not caught, and check the preview before you save.
How strong is the blur? Can it be reversed?
The exported file is re-rendered with a heavy Gaussian blur applied to the pixels themselves — it is not an overlay shape that can be moved aside. The blur radius scales with the size of the region, which is enough to destroy text at any legible size.
Can I redact straight from the share sheet, without opening the app?
Yes, through Shortcuts. Snapdraft adds a "Redact Image" action: make a shortcut that takes an image, runs Redact Image and then copies or saves the result, and turn on "Show in Share Sheet" in the shortcut's settings. It runs the same on-device detection as the app, and free exports carry the same small mark.
How do I get a redacted screenshot into Slack or an email fastest?
Open the screenshot, check the blurs, tap Copy next to Save, and paste. Copy does not need Photos permission. You can also paste a screenshot onto the start screen instead of picking it.
Does it work on iPad or Mac?
On iPad, yes — since 1.5 it is a full iPad app, with the controls in a column beside the screenshot, Split View and Stage Manager, Files, drag-and-drop and keyboard shortcuts. It needs iOS 17 or later. There is no separate Mac version.
I am seeing different behaviour in the simulator than on my phone.
Apple's Vision framework has known limitations in the iOS Simulator — face and barcode detection do not always initialise. Real-device behaviour is what counts.

Feature requests
Same email. The app is intentionally small, so most "could we add X?" answers are "probably a later version." But the inbox is open and the reads are real — see the release notes for what has actually shipped.
