Release notes
Every version of Snapdraft, newest first. The App Store shows only the current one.1.3 — Pending review
The watermark now appears on both save modes.
Changed
- Saved images carry the small snapdraft.suprun.ca mark in Redact mode too, not just on designed posts. If you have the one-time unlock, both modes save clean, and existing purchases restore automatically.
- The mark is visible in the editor before you save, and tapping it opens the unlock.
New
- Copy image — the saved toast has a Copy button, so a redacted screenshot goes straight into Slack, Linear or an email without a trip through Photos.
- Settings has Rate, Share, Contact support, and links to the privacy policy, the terms and this page.
- Diagnostics in Settings shows on-device usage counts. Nothing is sent anywhere — there is no server to send it to.
1.2 — 22 May 2026
More emoji, manual placement, and pixel-precise editing.
New
- Five face covers: plain circle, sunglasses, disguise, see-no-evil, dotted-line.
- Manual emoji tool — drag an emoji over anything auto-detect missed.
- Long-press any face to swap its emoji or make it larger / smaller.
- Image Fit mode in Post — Fill crops to the frame, Fit letterboxes inside the phone screen.
- Status bar toggle in the editor: show or hide the simulated 9:41 and battery per edit.
- Draw mode when zoomed — a floating button lets you Pan or Draw a manual blur without zooming out.
Improved
- Small-face detection uses an extra tiled pass, so group photos and crowds are more reliably covered.
- Ghost-circle artifacts next to detected faces are filtered out.
- Emoji is sized to match the redaction circle instead of overshooting it.
- Post-mode preview reflects Tight / Normal / Loose padding, so what you see is what you save.
Fixed
- Post-mode pinch and pan could leak zoom state back into Redact when switching modes.
- The watermark rendered sideways in a landscape frame.
Held back
- The Portrait / Landscape frame switch was built and then held back — landscape rendering was not good enough to ship, and existing landscape preferences were reset to portrait.
1.1 — 19 May 2026
Faces get a friendlier cover.
New
- Detected faces are covered with a 😎 over the frosted blur instead of a bare ellipse. The blur underneath is unchanged — the emoji is purely cosmetic.
- Settings → Redaction → Face cover to switch between Circle and the emoji.
Improved
- Face detection on large images. Camera photos at 4000+ px could quietly fail; detection now runs on a downscaled copy so accuracy no longer depends on source resolution.
- The status pill counts QR codes alongside text and faces.
Fixed
- Settings → Version showed a hardcoded "1.0 (1)" in every build since launch.
1.0.2 — 13 May 2026
Free, with the purchase temporarily removed.
Changed
- The in-app purchase was pulled while tax and banking paperwork cleared, and every export saved without a watermark for the duration.
1.0.1 — 11 May 2026
Post-mode export fixes.
Fixed
- The iPhone frame and watermark rendered too small in the saved PNG.
- The image overflowed the iPhone frame in saved posts.
- Blur overlays drifted on images whose aspect ratio differed from the frame.
1.0 — 9 May 2026
First release.
New
- On-device detection of phone numbers, emails, addresses, card numbers, API keys, names, QR codes and faces.
- Redact mode at source dimensions, and Post mode on a designed canvas with an iPhone frame.
- Tap a blur to remove a false positive, drag to add one the detector missed.
